A SCHOOLFRIEND of Mohammed Emwazi, who was last week unmasked as Jihadi John, has spoken out about the Islamic State killer’s teenage years.
“He is a total hypocrite” a former schoolfriend of Jihadi John has revealed
“He was obsessed with Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Tupac Shakur,” revealed one of the masked militant’s former friends.
I never saw him pray or wear Islamic dress – he would not even mention religion at all. The fact he portrays himself as a strict Muslim is laughable and shameful
The ex-schoolfriend spoke anonymously to The Sun: “He dressed like a gangsta rapper and was very into music at that time.
“He was obsessed with Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Tupac Shakur.”
Avid Manchester United fan Emwazi attended Quintin Kynaston school, in St John’s Wood, North West London, from 2001.
The revelations from the religious extremists’ past paint a very difficult picture to the devout Islamist fighting to impose a worldwide ‘caliphate’.
“He smoked drugs, drank and was violent towards other boys,” the anonymous friend said. “The fact he portrays himself as a strict Muslim is laughable and shameful.”
“I never saw him pray or wear Islamic dress – he would not even mention religion at all.
“Being a Muslim myself I was very aware of it at the time. We had a gang and he was very much a part of it – which shows he is a total hypocrite.”
“He tries to paint himself as devout, but he doesn’t know the meaning of the word. He would enjoy sitting in the corner, smoking weed.
“It didn’t bother him that it was illegal or against his faith. He was not a good Muslim.
“His path to jihad in Syria has shocked and disgusted all of us who used to be in the gang. He is just a brutal murderer now and most people who knew jim then just want him dead.”

The Conservative politician suggested Islamic State extremists were simply “tortured” young men with low self-esteem “who do not have a particular mission in life”.
“They are literally w***ers. Severe onanists. They are tortured,” he said.
“They will be very badly adjusted in their relations with women, and that is a symptom of their feeling of being failure and that the world is against them.
“They are not making it with girls and so they turn to other forms of spiritual comfort – which of course is no comfort.”
Jihadi John’s former gang-member today told The Sun she “never knew him [Mohammed Emwazi] to have a girlfriend”.
“His confidence shrunk when it came to the opposite sex – he would never chat someone up.
“I never knew him to have a girlfriend at school, which was pretty unusual among our gang.”
Failure to appeal to women is something Emwazi has addressed in a series of emails he sent to a Mail on Sunday journalist in December 2010 and early 2011.
In the shocking correspondence, the religious extremist claimed harassment from MI5 was destroying his relationships with women.
He never did.
Kuwait born-Briton Emwazi later studied at the University of Westminster, in central London.
The West London computer programmer is believed to have had a role in the failed July 21 bomb attacks in 2005, three weeks after the 7/7 bombings which killed 52 people and injured more than 700.
Jihadi John is believed to be responsible for the gruesome beheadings of US journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff, American aid worker Peter Kassig, British aid workers Alan Henning and David Haines and Japanese hostages Kenji Goto and Haruna Yukawa.
