An 18-year-old man from Cardiff has been arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences.
The teenager, from Grangetown, has been arrested over allegations of assisting in the preparation of an act of terrorism.
He was taken for questioning by officers from North West Counter Terrorism Unit and Wales Extremism and Counter Terrorism Unit on Wednesday.
The arrest is unconnected to the three Cardiff men thought to be in Syria.
He was arrested under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
The Welsh Extremism and Counter Terrorism Unit (WECTU) is a collaboration of the four police forces in Wales.
